Dr Malik is a West Australian trained Specialist Anaesthetist working both in private practice as well as in the public health system at Royal Perth Hospital. Having graduated from the University of Western Australia with honours, Dr Malik has worked at all the major tertiary hospitals in Perth and received his Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2019. Dr Malik has also completed a sub-specialty Obstetric Anaesthesia Fellowship at King Edward Memorial Hospital for Women and has a passion for medical education particularly simulation-based training with a focus on human factors. As such, he is heavily involved in educational activities at Royal Perth Hospital and is an instructor on ANZCA's Effective Management of Anaesthetic Crises (EMAC) course.

Dr Malik is skilled and experienced in providing anaesthesia for the majority of surgical specialties and has sub-specialty interests in Anaesthesia for Obstetrics, Gynaecology, General Surgery, Urology, ENT and Orthopaedics.
