Dr Gene Palmer

Dr Gene Palmer is an Anaesthetist with particular interests in regional, bariatric and neurosurgical anaesthesia.

Dr Palmer completed his medical training at Flinders University of South Australia in 2001. His Anaesthesia training was commenced in London and completed in Perth when he was awarded his FANZCA in 2010. He also completed a Bachelor of Science majoring in Pharmacology and Biochemistry with Honours in Biochemistry at the University of Western Australia in 1997.

He currently provides Anaesthesia to a range of surgical subspecialties at Royal Perth Hospital, St John of God Hospital Subiaco and Murdoch, Mount Hospital, Hollywood Hospital and South Perth Hospital.

Dr Palmer will usually speak with you prior to surgery to check your medical history and explain your anaesthetic. Depending on the complexity of your surgery he may see you in the rooms, consult via telephone/skype, or see you on the day of surgery.

After your Surgery

Dr Palmer will prescribe discharge medications such as antibiotics and analgesia that you should take according to instructions given.

If you have particular concerns post operatively, you can contact Dr Palmer either through the hospital or through his rooms even after your discharge from hospital. 


Out of pocket expenses

Due to poor indexing over the years most health funds will incur an out of pocket expense. Please check with his rooms for quotes and other billing enquires.
