Dr Craig Rainbird works as a Consultant Specialist Anaesthetist both at Royal Perth Hospital and in private practice. Dr Rainbird attended medical school at the University of Western Australia, graduating with honours.  He spent several years working in both adult and paediatric medicine before commencing his Anaesthetic specialty training. He was awarded a Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2020 as well as merit certificates for his performance in the National Anaesthesia primary and final examinations. After completing his specialty training he then further subspecialised in areas of cardiothoracic, regional, and orthopaedic anaesthesia, as well as echocardiography. In addition, he holds a post-graduate certificate in clinical echocardiography.

Dr Rainbird has skills and experience in anaesthesia for the majority of surgery specialties in both adults and paediatrics. His special interests include anaesthesia for major trauma surgery, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, cardiology, endocrine, ENT, and regional anaesthesia. He has a strong commitment to education and has completed a post-graduate certificate of clinical education and currently oversees the education program at Royal Perth Hospital.
